Nitsat Hadas Elami joined the professional staff of Temple Beth-El in July of 2009. Hadas was previously the Executive Director of Congregation Gesher Shalom in Fort Lee, NJ for a year and a half and the Administrative Director of Congregation B'nai Tikvah in North Brunswick, NJ for 8 year.
Hadas holds an MA with Honors in social psychology and a BA in sociology from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, where she taught "Introduction to Social Psychology" after graduating with an MA. She completed all but one class toward a PhD at Rutgers University School of Social Work in the Advanced Curriculum: Administration, Policy, and Planning track.
Hadas is also the founder and the web master of the listserve of her professional group - Metro NAASE (North American Association of Synagogue Executives). She is an elected Board member of Central NJ chapter of American Mensa, and proctors Mensa admission tests.
Prior to her arriving in the US, Hadas served in the Israeli military, the IDF - as a Unit Commander, Platoon Commander and Company Commander at the Central Women's Basic Training Base. She continued her military oriented career with the Israeli Police as a Personnel Officer and Operations officer. She left her Police service with the rank of a lieutenant. Later on she worked for the Israeli Airport Authority and headed security site teams for El-Al airlines at numerous locations around the world.
Hadas and her life partner, Colleen Snow, reside in Middlesex Borough.
