Karen Glansberg, LICSW, Director of Early Childhood Education

KarenGlansbergKaren Glansberg has been our Director of Early Childhood Education since the summer of 2004. Her devotion to children and to Judaism is the persistent theme in all the career choices she has made, and is reflected in the years of dedication and experience she brings to her position as Alef Beit Sefer Director of Early Childhood Education.

For 16 years, she was the Early Childhood Education Director at Temple Adat Shalom in Poway, California. While there, she developed and implemented an integrated Judaic and secular curriculum, taught numerous parenting classes, and created a wide range of course materials.

Karen had also directed a comprehensive children’s program at URJ Camp Newman in Santa Rosa, California. Known for her sensitivity in working with interfaith couples, she was the San Diego area director for Taste of Judaism and facilitator for Times and Seasons, both URJ programs.

Karen has a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a MSW from Boston University. She is also certified to teach Community College. Perhaps her greatest pride and joy are her two grown daughters, Marion and Anna.
